New Mountain Medicine recognizes that to offer the level of individual
and time-intensive service to patients is difficult in the current
system of governmental and private third party payers where
reimbursements for services continue to drop from already inadequate
levels. In order to maintain the focus of care on you, the patient, New
Mountain Medicine has decided to opt-out of Medicare, Medicaid and all
contracts with insurance companies. This way, all aspects of the
relationship and responsibility are between New Mountain Medicine and
you, with no interference from outside entities.
While payment in full is due at the time of service, New Mountain
Medicine can provide you with a super-bill, a document that you can
send in for reimbursement from your insurance company. Medicare and
Medicaid, as well as some insurance companies, do not reimburse for
un-enrolled or out-of-network physician care. If you are not sure if
this is the case, and if this would influence your decision to become a
patient at New Mountain Medicine, you should contact your insurance
company to find out before enrolling as a patient.
The above conditions make it possible to offer an affordable,
simplified and cost-effective fee structure. In addition, it allows Dr.
Vargas to have the time and resources to offer the kind of care he is
passionate about offering to you and all of his patients. And it makes
going to the doctor an experience that is unrushed, calming and
rejuvenating.
